Brief info

Now retired, Jim served 14 years in Pittsburgh City Council and 12 years in the State Senate representing Pittsburgh and a three county area. Active in peace and civil rights groups and campaigns since 1967 he assisted early efforts of the 1970’s Venceremos Brigade and years later helped incorporate our sister city organization. He has been a leader in sustainable community and economic development, civil rights and progressive electoral politics. Jim continues in his outreach and efforts to build fraternal ties with the people, governmental and university representatives in Havana and Matanzas, Cuba; and finally end the U. S. imposed blockade, travel ban and lack of respect for Cuba’s sovereignty.
