Brief info

Joe has been practicing architecture for nearly fifteen years for small, mid and large-sized architecture firms. He has worked on a variety of project types, ranging from adaptive reuse high-rises, historic preservation, sports architecture, and higher education science and technology buildings.

His college thesis, Psyche of Sustainability: Reinterpreting and Recreating a Havana Home, received an endowment that granted travel to Havana for enhanced analysis of the project site. He also met with local architects to discuss his design while identifying future opportunities for future collaboration. Joe's involvement with the Pittsburgh-Matanzas Sister CIties Partnership dates to 2014. Specifically, he contributed with the initial concept design for the Jim Ferlo Sustainability Center in Havana Vieja and most recently worked with various Cuban academic and research teams to identify distinct preservation projects in Havana Vieja and Havana Centro.
