How your continued membership renewal or donation has helped us:

  • Participate and support  joint planning and advocacy efforts with nation organization including the National Network on Cuba to fight the travel ban, illegal economic blockade, and reverse the SSOT.
  • In October 2023, organized a delegation of Board Members, supporters and a member of County Council to sign a “Refresh” of our Sister City Partnership with Matanzas officials.  This celebrated our 30 year anniversary of our partnership and delivered over $16,000 in medical aid to Cuba – in cooperation with Pittsburgh based Global Links.
  • Work closely and consistently with our partner Global Links —raising $5,000 in May 2021 as part of a successful national effort that sent six million syringes to the Cuban Health Ministry
  • Organized a car caravan in July, 2021, to demonstrate our solidarity with Cuba during their heroic efforts to fight the effects of the pandemic and assist poorer nations around the globe with emergency medical needs;
  • Raised $14,505 by the end of December 2021 specifically for badly needed PPE equipment and supplies that were shipped to Matanzas;
  • Worked closely with Congressman Mike Doyle who signed every legislative effort in opposition to the blockade, hosted the Cuban Ambassador, and worked to re-constitute the Cuba Caucus at the Capitol;
  • Maintain our outreach by developing & updating our web site: cubasipgh.org;
  • Preparing to archive over 35 years of solidarity work with Cuba.
